Recipe: Roast Chicken

15 May

Okay so this one is a no brainer really but a lot of people are very cautious handling about meat, chicken in particular. Now the reason this is getting a mention is because of how cheaply it works out in terms of meat. You can get 6-8 or even more meals out of one chicken if you just get creative with your left overs.

1 Chicken

1tbspn olive oil or melted butter

1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Place the chicken in an oven proof dish. Rub the oil or melted butter onto the skin and let it drizzle off. Sprinkle on any seasoning and bung it in the oven for around 2 hours for a large chicken. For exact timings  it’s generally 20 minutes a pound. Just make sure when you pull it out the meat by the bone isn’t pink.

Okay so now you’ve got your chicken. That was not complicated do not try and tell me it was.

Now the thing with this is there are so many things you can do with your left overs that I’ll go through on Friday when I round it all up.
