Recipe: lazy pizza

S1260003Another cheap student meal, a great alternative to dominoes simply because no one has the goddamned money.

Ingredients:

Grated mozzarella or cheddar

Tomato puree/passata

3tbspn Self Raising Flour

3tbspn Greek/Natural Yogurt, can be substituted for water but use more flour.

any other toppings you may want

Method:

1. Preheat the oven to around 180 degrees Celsius. Mix the flour and yogurt into a moist dough, this simple dough does not need to rise so remove from bowl and knead for only a few minutes. Roll out the dough onto a baking tray into whatever shape you want. it doesn’t need to be a circle so don’t panic. Throw it in the oven for  no more then 5 minutes to crisp up.

Note: If feeling really lazy use a half baked baguette cut in half as your base and skip this step. Also if you don’t own a rolling pin use a smooth bottle, it does the same job at the end of the day.

2. Get all your other ingredients ready. You’re puree or pasata is your sauce, an alternative could be a home made tomato sauce or you could mix in some garlic with the pasata etc. Take your base out of the oven and start layering you’re ingredients. First the sauce, then any other toppings followed by the cheese.

Note: Cheddar tastes great on pizza but mozzerella gives it that great stringy texture, it costs a little more but it makes a difference. You can buy it pregrated, pre sliced or in balls pretty reasonably.

3. Back in the over for long enough for the cheese to melt, not normally more then five or ten minutes.

Boom you have pizza! I can’t quite figure out a pricing for this one because It’s mainly store cupboard stuff but it is nothing compared to the cost of a takeaway.
